![]() ![]() For those of you who don’t know me that well, I grew up in Oregon with one older sister and two wonderful parents. My folks were always laid back and unrestrictive with me (much to my sister’s annoyance). But I think that’s why I always stayed out of trouble—there was no need to rebel. I was a bit of a nerd/jock who was into art and books. When I went off to New York University I was hoping to experience firsthand some of the big city adventures I’d always read about. (Being the naďve, turtle-neck loving Oregonian that I was when I first arrived, it was only natural that I got pick pocketed my Freshman year. I’ve since learned my Angry New Yorker Face).
I had always been passionate about art, but when I initially came to NYU I had thoughts of going into a more reliable profession, like journalism. (Hey, Connie Chung and Lois Lane seemed cool). But my sophomore year I realized I could pursue my favorite past time of art and drawing without becoming a starving fine arts major. I discovered graphic design. This switch in field of study led me to a seat next to my future husband, a smart, handsome wisecracking guy from the Bronx who, to this day, can still make me laugh until my stomach hurts. After graduation I worked as a senior designer for a software company that specialized in kiosks and a few years later I went onto a baby company named BébéSounds where I am currently the art director. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
